あらすじでは、急患の妊婦来る→出産→妊婦死亡→妊婦の身元がわらない→新生児身元不明。
これが、偶然なのか仕組まれた必然なのか？
ここからサスペンスが展開されるようです。
毎回、完結するストーリーではなく、大きな謎が一つ柱になっているタイプのドラマ。
ハマると見逃せなくなるので大変ですが、それはそれで嬉しい苦しみです（笑）

ある雨の晩、大久保記念病院に"飛び込み出産"の妊婦がやってくる。
当直の外科医、司馬健吾（岡田将生）は専門外ながら帝王切開手術に挑み、
無事男の子を取り上げる。
ところが、その直後に妊婦が急死。
身元の分からない新生児だけが病院に残された。
皮肉な偶然が重なり起こった出来事。健吾はそう思っていた。
だがこれは、偶然ではなく仕組まれた必然だった…。
それより１年前。
大学病院にいた健吾は、突然、経営難に苦しむ大久保記念病院への異動を命じられる。
看護師長の春日井優佳（中谷美紀）や外科医の水原良二（勝村政信）ら同僚と出会い、
多忙ながらも充実した日々を送り始める。
だがそんな健吾をよそに、ある思惑を胸に秘めた者たちによる壮絶な計画は、
着々と進められようとしていた…。
